Since 1998, CHS, Inc. has been at the forefront of industrial safety equipment distribution, helping protect employees from the numerous hazards they may encounter throughout their workday. As former fire chiefs, our owners initially focused on first aid and CPR training. After founding the company, they expanded into distributing a wide range of fire protection and fire safety supplies for multiple manufacturers. In 2000, they began renting safety equipment — primarily self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA) — and started offering safety equipment testing and repair services. CHS, Inc. became a licensed distributor for Scott Health Safety, Inc. in 2002. By 2011, the company earned certification as a small business through the County of Los Angeles.

CHS is a small, woman-owned business that serves a broad and diverse customer base, including municipal fire departments, water utilities, private fire departments at major refineries, industrial and commercial facilities, sheriff’s departments, military agencies, and maritime and other safety product distributors.
